3. Medical Procedures Lab

The medical procedures room is used to work on nursing and patient care skills. Its equipment allows developing skills of intramuscular, intravenous, subcutaneous, intradermal injections and punctures of the pleural cavity. Under the supervision of an instructor, students complete all phases of a procedure (hands preparation, preparation of required tools, etc.). Adult and child manikin hands with realistic network of veins are used to work on techniques of installing a venous port, adjusting intravenous infusion using IV tubing and blood collection for testing. The manikins can be furnished with simulated blood, making the training situation look more realistic.
