Simulation training center history



Simulation training plays significant role in the academic process of Ternopil State Medical University. The first virtual clinic was created in 2006 in TSMU’s Institute of Nursing to enhance teaching of general care in surgery, internal medicine and pediatrics.


The first simulation training class in emergency medical care started in 2012 in the Department of Disaster and Military Medicine.


Ternopil State Medical University Simulation Training Center began its work in 2015 as interdepartmental teaching and training center. It was located in Kotsiubynskoho 3a building.


In the 2015-2016 academic year simulation training center became an independent unit of the University. Its ceremonial opening took place during meeting of the Academic Council on 27 September 2016. Realizing a simulation training center was an important step for TSMU on the road to introduce advanced educational technologies to allow students gain practical medical experience.

Simulation training center is now located on the second floor of 3 Chekhov building. It is comprised of16 teaching rooms and three storage rooms. The center layout was custom-designed taking into account its target needs and seating capacity.



Subject-specific teaching rooms are fully equipped according to requirements for training professionals in various disciplines of the curriculum. Using the center’s facilities and equipment, students have the opportunity to learn essential practical skills for each medical specialty.
